About

Hi, I’m Kendi Perkins, founder of Living Water Biblical Counseling. I hold a Master of Science in Addictions Counseling from Texas Tech University and am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
My counseling philosophy is simple: the Holy Spirit is the true Counselor, and I am simply a tool He uses to help guide and encourage others through God’s Word. Every counseling session is centered on Scripture because true wisdom, healing, and transformation come from the Lord. Together, we open the Bible to seek what God says about life’s struggles and sufferings, trusting that His Word never returns void.
I am passionate about walking alongside people with compassion, grace, and truth. I especially value unity among believers and consider it an honor to support individuals and couples through challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, identity struggles, postpartum difficulties, and marriage conflict.
My approach focuses on helping people understand how their hearts respond to God, others, and life circumstances. Often, struggles are connected to desires, beliefs, or commitments that have become misaligned with God’s truth. Through biblical counseling, we work together toward a renewed understanding of God’s character — full of grace, truth, mercy, and love — so that lasting heart transformation can take place through Christ.
Statement of Faith
At Living Water Biblical Counseling, faith is centered on the truth of God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I believe in one triune God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is holy, sovereign, loving, and faithful in all His ways.
I believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of humanity, and was bodily raised from the dead in victory over sin and death. Through His life, death, and resurrection, salvation is offered by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
I believe God’s redemptive plan has been unfolding since the very beginning and is revealed throughout all of Scripture. From Genesis to Revelation, God faithfully pursues and restores His people for His glory.
I believe the Holy Spirit dwells within believers, guiding, comforting, convicting, and transforming hearts according to God’s truth.
I believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God and serves as the foundation for all counseling, wisdom, and instruction.
I believe Jesus Christ will return again, and those who belong to Him will spend eternity in His presence forever.
Why I Chose Biblical Counseling
For many years, the Lord continued to grow my heart toward people who were hurting, struggling, grieving, and searching for hope. Through both personal ministry and professional counseling experience, I became increasingly convinced that true and lasting hope is not ultimately found in human wisdom alone, but in Jesus Christ and the truth of God’s Word.
While completing graduate training in addiction counseling and counseling internships, I fulfilled all of the requirements that would have qualified me for state licensure. However, after much prayer and seeking the Lord’s direction, I chose not to pursue licensure so that I could fully practice counseling as ministry without restrictions on using Scripture, prayer, discipleship, and spiritual care.
Biblical counseling allows me to openly point people to Christ in every session and fully rely on the sufficiency of Scripture and the work of the Holy Spirit. It also allows counseling to be deeply relational and personal rather than distant or merely clinical.
I believe the Lord intended His people to walk alongside one another in unity through both suffering and joy. Biblical counseling gives the freedom to truly weep with those who weep, rejoice with those who rejoice, pray together, bear burdens together, and walk closely with people through difficult seasons of life. This ministry approach allows counseling to extend beyond simply sitting in an office for one hour a week. It creates opportunities for genuine discipleship, encouragement, compassion, accountability, and Christ-centered care.
Whether someone is struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, OCD, postpartum difficulties, spiritual discouragement, relationship struggles, or emotional suffering, my desire is to lovingly walk alongside them while helping them see how God’s Word speaks into their struggles with truth, hope, wisdom, and comfort.
Biblical counseling is not simply a career to me — it is a calling and ministry the Lord has placed on my life.

Each session is approached with intentional preparation and dependence on the Holy Spirit so that counseling remains personal, prayerful, and rooted in God’s Word.
The cost also helps sustain the quality and consistency of care provided through Living Water Biblical Counseling.
However, if finances are a hardship, please reach out. Arrangements can likely be made on a case-by-case basis because we desire counseling to remain accessible to those seeking help and hope in Christ.
Do you offer virtual counseling?
Yes. Virtual biblical counseling is available for individuals throughout Oklahoma and other locations where services may be provided.
However, for individuals living in or near Hollis, Oklahoma, in-person counseling is preferred whenever possible because biblical counseling is deeply relational and ministry-centered. Face-to-face counseling allows for deeper connection, discipleship, encouragement, prayer, and personal care.
Are you a licensed counselor?
Living Water Biblical Counseling intentionally operates as a ministry-centered biblical counseling practice rather than a state-licensed clinical counseling office.
Kendi Perkins completed graduate training in addiction counseling, over 300 internship counseling hours, and fulfilled all requirements that would have qualified her for licensure. However, after much prayer and consideration, she chose not to pursue licensure in order to maintain the freedom to fully practice biblical counseling centered on Scripture, prayer, discipleship, and ministry care.
What can I expect during my first counseling session?
The first session is focused on getting to know you, hearing your story, understanding your struggles, and beginning to explore how biblical counseling may help support you.
Sessions are compassionate, conversational, prayerful, and centered on God’s Word. The goal is to create a safe environment where you feel heard, cared for, and encouraged while seeking wisdom and hope through Christ.
